THE GRANT

Launched in 2025 and based in Berlin, this annual photography grant aims at supporting FLINTA artists (female, lesbian, inter, non-binary, trans, agender).

Each year, one artist is awarded €3,000 to develop a project. The focus is on giving time, support, and space to pursue new or ongoing work. We want to give visibility to artists who reflect on the world in thoughtful, critical, or imaginative ways.

No expectations of finished work. Just the possibility of time, space, and focus.

2026 OPEN CALL

For the first edition of this grant, we’re keeping the theme open.

We’re interested in different types of photography that explore how the world is shaped, whether through the lens of politics, sociology, anthropology, or the built environment. This might mean looking at cities, public spaces, institutions, private routines or cultural patterns – though we’re equally open to unexpected perspectives, personal stories or anything you’d like to show us.

Projects can be documentary, staged, experimental, or somewhere in between and we’re happy to support new or ongoing work. We care less about form and more about clarity of thought and perspective.

Submissions close at midnight on October 31st, 2025 (Berlin/CET time).

WHAT WE EXPECT

Although encouraged, we don’t expect a finished project from the selected artist. We do however expect meaningful progress including a project text and at least 10 photographs to be submitted within 6 months.

The first €2,000 will be awarded upfront, the remaining €1,000 once all deliverables are submitted. You can find all details in our Terms & Guidelines

SUBMISSION

Submissions open on September 1st, 2025, and close on October 31st at 3:00 PM, 2025 (Berlin time). The selected artist will be notified by email within two months, with a public announcement following shortly after.

To help cover costs, we charge a submission fee of €10.

You’ll find all the details on how to apply on the application page, but here’s what you’ll need:

  • A short bio and CV
  • Samples of work (previous or from the ongoing project you would like to work on)
  • A description of the project you are planning to work on

Before submitting, please make sure to read our Terms & Guidelines carefully.
